Terms of Business

1. Introduction
By booking an ultrasound scan through The Avenue Ultrasound Ltd, trading as The Avenue Ultrasound, you agree to the following terms of business. Please read them carefully before making your booking.
Any reference to, we, us, our, is reference to The Avenue Ultrasound T/A The Avenue Ultrasound Ltd, a company registered in England and Wales under company registration number 16128783, with our registered address at 24 The Avenue, Alwoodley, Leeds, LS17 7BE.

2. Booking Process
Our website allows you to book and/or make an enquiry for a specialist ultrasound diagnostic scan. Scans can either be booked directly on the website. You can also use the website or contact us by email or telephone to make an enquiry. If an enquiry is received to contact you, a member of our team will contact you to arrange a suitable date and time to discuss a scan and arrange an appointment for you.

Payment is required in full at the time of booking the appointment, whether that be on the website, or during an enquiry. It is your responsibility to make a note of the appointment and ensure you attend. In the event a booking is made, you must turn up to your appointment at least 10 minutes before and follow any instructions provided online or after, concerning the requirements of your appointment for a scan: this includes such as whether to be in a fasting state or have a full bladder.

3. Payment
We accept most debit and credit card payment methods. Payment is made when booking the scan directly through our website or by phone. Prices vary depending on the area of the body being scanned, and you will be informed of the total cost at the time of booking.

4. Cancellation and Refund Policy

  • More than 5 days’ notice: If you cancel your appointment more than 5 days before the scheduled appointment, you are entitled to a full refund.
  • Between 2 to 5 days’ notice: If you cancel the appointment less than 5 days but more than 2 days before the appointment, you are entitled to a refund minus a £50 administration fee.
  • Less than 2 days’ notice or no show: If you cancel less than 2 days before the appointment or fail to attend the appointment without prior notice, no refund will be issued.

5. Ultrasound Scan Reports
The typical turnaround time for ultrasound scan reports is under 5 working days from the date of the appointment. However, this is subject to change based on busy periods, availability and other factors such as those outside our control. We will inform you if there are any significant delays.

6. Provider Responsibility
Ultrasound scans we arrange may be carried out either by our practitioners, sub-contractors, or third party providers. You agree not to hold us responsible for anything outside administering booking your appointment and arranging for your report to be drafted and sent to you. While we take every measure to ensure quality service, we are not responsible for any issues related to the scan or report, including but not limited to inaccuracies in the report, delays, or technical problems during the scan, or mistakes by the person/provider conducting the scan and drafting the report. By using our website and/or if you proceed to book an appointment for a scan, you agree to this and agree to indemnify us against any losses which may occur as a result of any act or omission during the process of booking your appointment, having your scan, through to receiving your report. We operate under a practicing privilege provided by CQC’s Yorkshire Health Solutions. Your patient status and rights are under them for regulatory purposes. Further information can be found on the CQC’s website or by emailing us.

7. Limitation of Liability
We will not be held responsible for any losses, damages, or personal injury arising from the ultrasound scan, the report, or any delay in receiving the report. You indemnify us and any of our group companies against any claims, damages, or losses arising from the use of our services.

8. Changes to Terms
We reserve the right to update these terms and conditions at any time. Any changes will be posted on our website, and they will apply to any bookings made after the updated terms are posted.

9. Privacy and Data Protection
We are committed to protecting your privacy. Any personal data collected during the booking process will be used solely for the purpose of arranging your ultrasound scan and will not be shared with third parties without your consent, except as necessary to fulfil the service (e.g., sharing the details with the ultrasound provider or other partners who support the day-to-day operations of our business).

10. Complaints
In the event of any complaints, please contact us by email at [email protected] or by writing to our registered address at 24 The Avenue, Alwoodley, Leeds, LS17 7BE.

11. Force Majeure
In the event of circumstances beyond our control (e.g., provider failure, technical issues, extreme weather), we will make reasonable efforts to inform you promptly and reschedule any appointments. However, we are not liable for any delays, cancellations, or failures to perform our obligations as a result of such circumstances. You indemnify us and our providers against any losses that arise in this situation.

12. Cancellation by Us or Provider
If an appointment must be cancelled by us or whomever is responsible for conducting the actual scan, we will contact you as soon as possible to arrange a new appointment. You agree to hold us and any person/providers harmless against any losses or damages arising from such cancellations.
